About Michael J. Evans

Michael J. Evans is a plaintiffs’ lawyer, consumer advocate, blogger, legal services marketer, consultant and technology aficionado. Evans is involved in online legal marketing, consumer advocacy, website development, search engine optimization (SEO) and online video.
After 20 years of representing thousands of people in individual and class action lawsuits, Evans and two other attorneys formed the American Legal Alliance (ALA) in the year 2000. The ALA was based on their belief that the Internet would fundamentally change the legal profession, particularly mass tort litigation. They saw the opportunity for people in rural America to hire law firms with the expertise and financial resources to take on complex products liability litigation against corporations with virtually unlimited resources. As a lawyer who grew up in a rural Alabama couunty with only four lawyers who were totally unequipped to handle expensive, complex product litigation, Evans believed it was a worthy goal to offer people anywhere in America the opportunity to be represented by the best plaintiffs’ law firms. This effort was highly successful. The ALA organized a network of lawyers in over 40 states, and used the Internet to help litigation firms obtain thousands of mass tort clients in cases involving defective drugs and medical devices. Evans and the ALA team are available to help experienced plaintiffs’ litigation firms sign up mass tort cases nationwide. In addition to his continuing work with the ALA, Evans is also currently involved with others in additional Internet ventures (both law-related and non-law-related). Some of these ventures have opportunities for writers, advertisers, investors and developers. Evans lives in Birmingham, Alabama and is a member of the Alabama State Bar. Evans is also a sustaining member of the American Association for Justice. His current interests include consumer advocacy, legal marketing on the Internet, online video, social media and mobile technology.
